These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of https://elevance.top and its articles and related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by the Elevance editorial team (“Elevance,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. If local law requires consent from a parent or guardian, you may use the Service only with that consent. Do not use the Service where doing so is unlawful.
2. What the Service provides
The Service publishes information, commentary, reviews, reference material, and other editorial content about smart-home standards, planning, privacy, and device maintenance. Content is provided for general information and may become outdated. It is not individualized professional advice.
3. Limited permission to use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access and use the Service for lawful, non-commercial purposes. This permission does not transfer ownership or permit you to copy, republish, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, scrape at scale, interfere with, or create a competing dataset from the Service except where applicable law expressly allows it.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- violate law or the rights of another person;
- disrupt, overload, probe, bypass, or compromise the Service or its security;
- introduce malware, automated abuse, fraudulent traffic, invalid ad interactions, or deceptive activity;
- access non-public areas or data without authorization;
- use bots or scrapers in a way that ignores technical restrictions or imposes unreasonable load;
- misrepresent affiliation, impersonate another person, or submit false rights notices;
- use the Service to generate or distribute unlawful, harmful, infringing, or privacy-invasive material; or
- remove ownership, attribution, copyright, trademark, or advertising disclosures.
We may investigate suspected abuse and take proportionate action, including blocking access or contacting service providers or authorities where appropriate.
5. Editorial and professional-information limitations
Content may contain errors, incomplete information, opinions, estimates, or links that later change. Verify time-sensitive facts with a current primary source. Product features, compatibility, firmware behaviour, and availability change quickly; check current manufacturer documentation before purchase, installation, or modification of your home.
Nothing on the Service is electrical, construction, security, legal, financial, or other professional advice. The Service does not create a professional-client relationship. For work involving mains electricity, building structure, gas, or physical security, consult a qualified professional and follow applicable standards and local requirements.
6. Third-party links and services
The Service may display or link to content controlled by others. Your interaction with that content is between you and the third party. We are not responsible for third-party availability, code, advertising, purchases, accounts, content, security, or privacy practices. Links do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
If a third-party provider withdraws access or we receive a credible rights, security, or policy notice, we may remove or disable the relevant item without notice.
7. Intellectual property
The Service's original design, text, software, graphics, and compilation are owned by the Elevance team or used under license and are protected by applicable laws. Third-party brands, product names, screenshots, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Quotations, public-domain works, licensed assets, and external data are identified where reasonably possible. Unless expressly stated, our commentary, summaries, annotations, and arrangement remain protected even when the underlying source work is not.
To report alleged infringement, contact [email protected] with the exact URL, identification of the protected work, your contact details and authority, a good-faith explanation, and any legally required statements. We may forward the notice to the relevant provider.
8. User messages and submissions
You retain ownership of content you send us, such as corrections, feedback, or rights notices. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, and use it only as reasonably necessary to operate the Service, respond to you, or publish a correction where appropriate. You represent that you have the necessary rights and that your submission is lawful and does not violate another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights. Do not submit confidential information or material you do not want processed as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Advertising, affiliate links, and sponsorships
The Service may display advertising or sponsored placements where clearly labeled. Advertising providers may collect or process information as described in our Privacy Policy. Your dealings with advertisers are between you and the advertiser. The current edition deploys no advertising scripts. We do not accept paid placement in our editorial rankings or recommendations, and we do not use affiliate links.
10. Service changes and availability
We may add, change, suspend, or remove content and features. We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, permanent URLs, or compatibility with every device. We may perform maintenance or respond to security, legal, licensing, provider, or business constraints.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CONTENT, LINKS, OR THIRD-PARTY SERVICES ARE ACCURATE, SAFE, AVAILABLE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PURPOSE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE ELEVANCE TEAM AND ITS PERSONNEL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, SAVINGS, BUSINESS, OR OPPORTUNITY ARISING FROM THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF USD 100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT. This limit does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Elevance team from third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights. This section does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by us or cannot legally be shifted to you.
14. Suspension and termination
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, protect users or infrastructure, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions — will survive.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts located there will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms for product, legal, security, or operational reasons. We will post the revised version and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms, except where law requires affirmative consent.
17. General terms
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or operation of the Service, subject to applicable law. These Terms and the incorporated Privacy Policy form the agreement about the Service unless a feature has additional stated terms.
